The Next Step


All too often I have no idea what the next step is. Sometimes I don’t even know if I’m walking, climbing, swimming, or what!
Boldly I step up;
Timidly I step down,
Ere I grow weary.
My steps are feeble
Though I try to climb
Time begins to pass
And I realize I haven’t moved
Though I’m tired of standing.
I tentatively try again
But find that I do not
Know where to step.

Thankfully, though, we have this assurance: “A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps” (Proverbs 16:9). We may think we know where we should go or want to go, but God will direct us and establish our steps. And praise the Lord God for that…or His pilgrims never get where they were going!

  2023 was truly a beautiful year.  God had told me to be available this year, and He definitely did bring a lot of opportunities, along with new growth, new friends, new places...there was a breath of fresh air and peace this year, and such a reminder of God's goodness. Holy Fire

Without the fire we’ll never fly to the heart of heaven… Flames flicker Jumping through the darkness Unafraid To send sparks into the darkness. This fire, meant to refine, Can be painful sometimes But only at the first touch. Once t he flames consume the dross… Lay it all down for the heart of heaven… …It no longer hurts. Hezekiah: Don't be selfish with blessings

Yeah, if you’re saying “who?” I won’t hold it against you, since when God first put his name into my head, all I knew was that he was one of the many kings in the Old Testament, and that’s about it. But so you know, Hezekiah’s story is told in 2 Kings 18-21, 2 Chronicles 29-32, and Isaiah 36-39. He was a king in Judah for 29 years, beginning at the age of 25. The Bible says that no other kings of Judah were like him. He’s the guy that destroyed all shrines including the brazen serpent that had become an idol to the people. However, his end wasn’t as great as his beginning, as he became proud and selfish and his son Manasseh was a wicked king. So clearly, when God put that name into my head (day after day after day, might I add!) I read all about him and took notes and everything. I thought that would be enough. Nope.
