2015: I Want to Remember

Wow, 2015 was quite the year!  Therefore, the list of things I want to remember is going to be quite long!  So, enjoy the ride!  (Events are listed chronologically.)

1) The Physics Project
God taught Jaden and I so many things while working on this project, which we turned into an opportunity to witness.  Also, God blessed it and it worked perfectly every single time it was set off (it was a rube goldberg project).

2) My Last Youth Retreat (as a youth)
The winter retreat was am amazing time that drew us closer to God, as usual!  The highlight of that trip was the most amazing worship experience I have had yet as well as at least 20 minutes of Holy Spirit Laughter.

3) Fun Times in AP Classes
Ha, you all thought that being in college prep classes meant all work and no play!  In all actuality, I think the AP classes were the craziest.  Fun things like LOLC, stories with holes, Dutch Blitz, Mr. Garrett snapping a ruler in half, moments of hilarity thanks to literature, and the list goes on.

4) The Birth of Elizabeth "Liza" Sigman
My English teacher's first!

5) Seeing Avengers 2: Age of Ultron in Theaters (twice!)

6) HMS Reunion/Graduation Party
This time we were not getting ready to "graduate" from 8th grade, but for real!  It was an amazing time of getting together with friends, some of whom we hadn't seen in years!

7) Hershey Park Physics Trip
Because once the math was done (and our work wasn't actually being graded because my group had already passed physics class), we could enjoy the rides even more!  Lots of laughs that day.

8) That Time with Liquid Nitrogen
Don't worry, we were safe.  We just enjoyed watching the lady do cool things with liquid nitrogen and we got to eat liquid nitrogen-ed gummy worms, marshmallows (which shattered if she threw one at you and you didn't catch it, that was pretty cool), and homemade dip-n-dots.

9) GRADUATION!!!
For so long I had thought it would never come, and suddenly it came.  Along with this goes the remembering of all of my awesome high school friends, teachers, and blessings that God so freely gave.  He is so good!!  While high school may not have been the "fest four years of my life" like so many adults have told me, God definitely blessed them and did so much more with them, especially my senior year, than I ever expected, especially as a lost and lonely freshman who just had to leave all that I knew at Hinkletown Mennonite School.  But God has plans for everything and He never abandons us, and what we may think of as a trial He works for good.  And I even came in ninth in my class - thanks to the academic diligence that God blessed me with.  And that's what it all comes down to it, isn't it?  All that God gives us - because alone we have nothing.

10) GERMANY!!
This was such an awesome experience.  I gained a deautsche Familie and lots of new friends, learned to love a new culture, and finally got to use those five classes of German!  Not to mention I got to eat lots of yummy food, drink carbonated everything (oh wait...is that a good thing?), and too much to say here!  But if you want to see pictures and read all about it, you can visit my "This Pilgrim's Journeys" blog.

11) Grandma as she will be in my Memory
I did not put this in the "forget" category because I want to remember and celebrate the life of my grandmother.  I was blessed to be able to tell her I love her and hear her say "I love you too" two days before she passed away - also the day before I left for Guatemala.  I was not at the funeral, but I think that was a blessing, because funerals just make me sadder, whereas the memory of that last time that I saw her will be a sweet, happy one.

12) GUATEMALA!!
It was like going home!  This second time in Guatemala (with my "ministry family" !!) was amazing.  God did awesome things and there is too much to say on this one, too! But again, for pictures and the full story, see "This Pilgrim's Journeys."

13) Those Last Months in 2015 of ACOB Foundation Youth Group

They were all awesome times and truly a foundation for what is to come.

14) Concert in Pittsburgh and Worship Night in Harrisburg
To Pittsburgh was a fun five-hour drive with a couple of my closest friends with great conversation, and then the concert of great worship with groups such as Lauren Daigle, David Crowder, Passion, Jesus Culture, and Hillsong (and let me just say, Oceans and Touch the Sky live are so amazing!!).  The worship night in Harrisburg with Bethel Music was THE BEST though, with so much spontaneous worship and such freedom in the Spirit!

15) Joining the ECOB Family
I started attending a new church this year, in October - it's a really, really, really long story that I don't want to bore you with, and really, at the moment it's not important - so suffice it to say, I really like my new church and I have already been involved helping with a couple youth things with Miranda, and it's been a great new adventure.

16) New College Friends
So yeah...I remember, before I started college, saying that I didn't really want to bother with finding new friends there, too, because as it is I have enough friends to keep up with and hang out with, but HAHAHA never, ever say that....because God always has a different idea in mind.  So I now have friends at college.  And I am glad that I got to know them.....as always, God knows what's best for me and probably just shakes His head and sighs at my silliness and goes ahead and does what He knows I need.  In fact, there were some times when I really tried to just be a recluse, but God was like NOPE!  And that day I talked to everyone under the sun - at least, a whole lot more than I even did on a normal day.  Sigh.  Ok, another lesson learned!  So thank you, God, for my college friends.

17) Ziplining Adventure
Because who doesn't like ziplining?  And it was with fun people from work as well as my brother and my favorite cousin.  So that can only be a good thing!

18) All the Amazing Worship Times and Words and Poetry
I can't say enough to describe this, but suffice it to say that God is always near and always speaking to us.

19) SO MANY BLESSINGS!!!
This I can describe even less.  God is just forever good and forgiving and graceful and....oh but there is just too much of Him to fully describe!  Hallelujah Amen!
