2014: I Want to Remember
2014 was a great year. It was a year of changes and questions and some turmoil, too, but there are plenty of things from this past year that I'll always want to remember. Some of them have both good and bad sides, so if there's an * you know there's more to that story, which I will continue in a later post.
I Want to Remember...
...how restlessness for God was already becoming rooted into my soul*
...how God protected Kyle and gave him grace throughout his whole "stuck-his-hand-in-a-snow-blower-and-broke-three-fingers" experience
...our winter youth retreat (also our first time at "the mansion"), with amazing and literally indescribable God times and fun and games
...getting honorable mention in the Scholastic Writing Contest
...Irene (one of my managers at work) as she was*
...seeing Captain America The Winter Soldier in theaters (cuz let's be honest, that's pretty fantastic!)
...Heidi and Micah's wedding - the addition of a new brother!
...God healing my uncle Kurt*
...the birth of Reagan, the first child of my Language Arts teacher from my old school!
...going to my first ever baseball game (Barnstormers vs. Sugar Skeeters) with Hans, Heidi and Micah
...Kiona coming back home
...amazing youth group times!
...the summer youth group retreat and amazing God times!
...that God wrecked my lame college plans*
...GUATEMALA!!! Oh my word, there is so much I could fill in to add to this.....meeting our little friends at the work site, seeing tears running down the faces of Guatemalan students as they came forward to accept Christ, so many amazing people, seeing how HIV positive orphans relished cheeseburgers from MacDonald's.....and the list goes on
...getting prayed for at work by some customers from Global Awakening
...the birth of Clark, my youth pastor's third son
...the birth of Preston, our neighbor's third child
...the birth of Caleb, my cousin's second son, and the many medical difficulties God got him and the whole family through
...a day at the beach and hanging out in in Delaware with Mom and Heidi
...seeing Kyle get baptized
...Crystal's wedding (a coworker)
...Chelle's wedding!! (a fantastic lady from church who helped with the youth group for so many years)
...getting accepted to go to Germany the next summer!
...my fantastic 18th birthday...and the best present was knowing that I have so many awesome friends and family members!
...God's amazing presence and help as Jaden and I did our physics project
...overall, God's hand and blessings throughout everything that happened the whole year through. God is good all the time and all the time, God is good! Amen.
