  • Travel to all 50 States

  • Marry the amazing guy God has for me
  • Have at least 4 kids (preferably 1 or 2 adopted)
  • Live in a state other than my native Pennsylvania
  • Get my first book published
  • Write a bestseller
  • Have a home office
  • Have an actual prayer closet
  • Be involved with an established ministry
  • Travel to at least one country in every continent (minus Antarctica)
    • North America - United States (varying areas)
    • South/Central America - Guatemala, Colombia
    • Europe - Germany, Austria
    • Asia - Thailand
  • Talk to someone in every country in the world

  • Write people's stories
  • See the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island
  • Become fluent in German
  • Learn passable Vietnamese and/or Thai
  • Meet an active president
  • Climb a volcano
  • Stay at a fancy resort for at least two days
  • Run a writing camp/writing program
  • Lead a Bible study group
  • Go to my high school reunion
  • Own a sword

  2023 was truly a beautiful year.  God had told me to be available this year, and He definitely did bring a lot of opportunities, along with new growth, new friends, new places...there was a breath of fresh air and peace this year, and such a reminder of God's goodness. Shall we jump into 2023? St. Mary Lake, Glacier National Park Adventures In January my brother and I explored Concrete City in Nanticoke, PA - in the cold and amongst snow flurries. Though each concrete home was built the same, the varying degrees of damage and graffiti made each building a unique exploration. A Father's Love

It was a normal late Sunday morning in Guatemala. A grandmother took two of her granddaughters to visit relatives in San Miguel los Lotes. A father's motorcycle sat in the repair shop. The rest of his family was at home with him, his wife and boys. In villages all along the mountainside, families were enjoying yet another day, making tortillas for lunch, playing outside with colorful plastic balls, and laughing with family members. An explosion of fire from Fuego's mouth turned a normal day into a nightmare that sent panicked villagers running. While everyone was running away, one man was running closer and closer, desperate to find his daughters. It's as if I am listening to someone describe the plot of a movie they saw, but as I feel the sweat beading on my skin from the baked air within the house of corrugated tin, I feel the heavy reality of a father's incredible story. Fear: it made me unpleasant

I already admitted being foolish. While that story may have simply been ridiculous and may have even made you smile, this is just plain embarrassing. It's also not just one story; it was a growing theme that I could sense growing in my life but wasn't quite sure exactly what it was. It began when some plans got canceled and I was very upset. Technically, I could've still followed through with the plans on my own and simply moved forward. But no. Refusing to do something that I had never done before and that, quite frankly, scared me, I simply got angry at the person who had messed up my plans. (When someone else volunteered, still I held a few days' grudge.) It wasn't the first time something had made me extra-angry without a justifiable reason for said anger.
